This week we completed a series of activities designed to help us follow instructions. We used a giant ball run to practice listening to instructions and to see if we could independently complete a task.
We also used the story of ‘Stick Man’ and looked how we handled books, found characters in the story and made predictions about the ending. The new forest area in the school proved very helpful when we ventured out to find our very own ‘stick man’.
In our afternoon sessions we have also been enjoying the giant ball run, transporting and moving the balls around – lots of fun and very messy! Our story sack for ‘Dear Zoo’ allowed us all to take part at finding the animals and matching them to the explanation/sounds, and learning things that made each one different (tall/big/fierce…).
Next week: Rugby Tots visit, Tuesday 1st October (AM). We will be looking at different ways to move and exploring the story ‘What the ladybird heard’ in our morning sessions. In our afternoons we will also be looking at animal noises and the nursery rhyme ‘Old Macdonald had a farm’.
