It has been a lovely first week, welcoming back all of our children and introducing them to some new friends.
We have been busy with a range of activities to settle us all back in, including: fun games (practicing turn taking), physical challenges (to balance and climb), mark making, cutting and threading (fine motor skills) and we have been on a bear hunt (acting out a narrative together) – we even found a bear in the preschool cave! Please take a look at your tapestry account for pictures and videos of this activity – www.tapestry.info/
We have visited the big school playground in our morning sessions and made good use of the climbing equipment and large space to run around in.
Next week: we will introduce phonics to our morning children (please take a look in the home learning books for further information), starting with the letter ‘S’. We have turned our home corner into a ‘Letter shop’ and the children will be using a special shopping list to make purchases. In our afternoon sessions we will be looking at a different area of learning each day in small groups (numbers/shapes/colours) and using the song ‘Wheels on the bus’ to focus our activities.
