We have been exploring the ‘Gingerbread Man’ story this week and our morning children have enjoyed acting out the scenes, using picture cards to sequence the story and walking along our large story path to think about the beginning/middle/end of the story. We learnt some new words and their meaning while talking about the story – characters/illustrations.

The children also created some lovely drawings of the characters from the story, decorated gingerbread men pictures and used play dough to make their own gingerbread people.

In our afternoon sessions we read, listened to and took part in crafts linking to the ‘Gingerbread Man’ story. There were some lovely gingerbread families created by the children using a range of materials.

Next week: Visit to Addlestone Library on Tuesday (AM Children). World Book Day on Thursday – children come to preschool dressed as their favourite book character OR in their favourite pyjamas. Our home corner will become a library for the children to role play and we will be creating story books to bring home.
