Our book themed week has been a lot of fun as we visited the library, dressed up and made our own story books. Our home corner became a library this week and we used a scanner, made bookmarks and stamped library cards as we role played. We also had a Tiger themed tea party and tiger feet games linking to our story of the day. Take a look at your Tapestry account for pictures from these and other activities this week.

A special thank you to the parents that came in to read to the children in small groups on Thursday.

It wasn’t all stories though as we had fun with some balancing, ball skills and commando crawling games throughout the week.

In our afternoon sessions we also had fun dressing up and reading stories. We used the story of ‘The Hungry Caterpillar’ to create our own caterpillar and butterfly art.

Next week: It is Science Week and the children will become little scientist to build experiments, explore materials and test their ideas. We will end the week with a visit from GenieLab science (Friday 13th AM children).
