Our second week back has been a lovely mixture of maths learning and exploring outside.

We have made lots of mess in the outdoor kitchen with flour and water as we imagined ourselves chefs and made everything from porridge to gourmet cookies.

We have recognised numbers to build a caterpillar, matched quantity with colouring sheets and decorated butterflies with foam chips. We practised our writing skills and used scissors to make snips/cut around pictures. We helped the hungry caterpillar through our giant outdoor maze to find the fruit – (walking through it) and then using a pen and paper.

Once again, a big thank you to all our children and families for helping the week run smoothly and keeping each other safe by following the extra safety guidelines. The children have really taken on board the new routines and procedures at preschool and are enjoying their smaller sessions at preschool.

Next week: we will explore shapes, make arrangements with shapes and follow the children’s interest in the story of ‘The three Billy Goats Gruff’.
