We have used the nursery rhyme ‘Incy Wincy Spider’ this week, to learn about numbers, counting, cutting and familiarise ourselves with rhyme. The children made spiders with a range of materials (including play dough/paper plates/chalks) and counted the legs, matched quantity, wrote numbers. We enjoyed playing ‘splatt the spider’ and laughed a lot watching the video clips of ‘spider in the bath’ a preschool favourite!
During our outdoor play we enjoyed the beautiful weather and opened a car wash for the children to role play. A great chance for us to cool off!
We also took a lovely walk around the woodland play area with our morning children. They were climbing, balancing, jumping, collecting natural objects and looking at insects in the bug hotels.
Don’t forget to log in to your tapestry account to see pictures of the things we have been doing at preschool.
Next week: we will be using a new nursery rhyme – ‘humpty dumpty’ to support our learning. We will look at using ICT and constructing with a purpose in mind.
