The children have all enjoyed playing in our dinosaur hide out this week. They have crawled through the tunnel to get in and enjoyed looking after the giant dinosaur eggs, recognising different dinosaurs in our large book and playing together with the dinosaurs. We got crafty creating paper plate and hand print dinosaurs to join our large ‘leafosaurus’ (that we made collectively before half term).
We have also been looking at firework safety with the children and recognising the dangers with sparklers. We got very messy splatting paint outside to create a background for our name rockets and then practised writing, tracing over letters and ordering our names to finish the pictures off – you can see our display board in the photo gallery.
In our afternoon sessions we also enjoyed the dinosaur hide out, some paint splatting and created some shape firework pictures.
We finished the week off with a group game of ‘balloon tennis’ – see you tapestry account for more pictures.
Next week: we will look at Diwali, Remembrance Day and germs (to reinforce the importance of hand washing/’catch it, kill it, bin it’). Our home corner is a doctors surgery to link with our germs topic. Look out for information about our ‘Christmas Fundraising Packs’ – we value your support for this fundraising project.
