We’ve been busy this week celebrating Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Day with the children. There have been a lot of rice and noodle dishes made in the restaurant role play area! The children drew some lovely dragon pictures, and there was a lot of excitement/dancing with dragon masks as the children enjoyed pretending.
All of the children talked about Valentine’s day and how to be kind to others. They made a Valentine’s card to give to someone special and some heart biscuits to share at home.
Our morning children have also been thinking about the initial sounds of different words and sorting objects. See your tapestry journal for more information.
We have even found time to play out in the snow and ice, getting rosy cheeks and cold fingers – having a lot of fun smashing and breaking through the ice, catching snowflakes and throwing snow balls at the teachers!!
Next week: is HALF TERM and preschool will be closed. Enjoy the break and stay safe. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to preschool from Monday 22nd February. We will start the term looking at the environment (Reduce/Reuse/Recycle) – if you have any junk modelling items, please bring them in to preschool for the children to get creative. We especially need clear 1 litre plastic bottles and yoghurt pots if you have any at home.
