Our caterpillars arrived and have not disappointed -quickly growing as we have watched throughout the week.

In our morning sessions the children have been keeping a ‘butterfly diary’, recording what they have seen with writing and drawings. Completing activity sheets and making their own life cycle pictures. In the afternoons the children have also been looking at the caterpillars and making some colourful pictures of butterflies/caterpillars.

On Thursday morning the children all enjoyed some competition as they played ‘limbo’, escaped from their toilet roll coccoon (see your tapestry account) and used finger paints to make the longest caterpillar in two minutes!

All of the children were also busy making some special cards that they brought home for Sunday.

Next week: we will continue looking at the progress of our caterpillars and link the hungry caterpillar story to our next theme – healthy eating and looking after our teeth.
